Sustainable carbon technologies such as carbon capture and storage (CCS) are recognised as a key mitigation option within scenarios for achieving net zero such as the IEA’s roadmap for global net zero in 2050. However, current finance flows to the technology are extremely small when compared to other important energy transition measures such as renewable energy and low-carbon transport.
