Federal Signal 2001-130+131DST Siren Test (ft. TOR warned storm) | Alert | Deer Park, TX

Boy oh boy, where do I even begin with this one... But first, Happy New Year! First video of the 2025 (even though this was filmed on December 28th), crazy to think that its already here. Time flies, doesn't it? Ok, now onto the stroy. Ever since Deer Park recently changed their signal from Fast Wail to Alert, that gave me another reason to go back. I've had my eyes on this one located at the San Jacinto monument, purely just for the shots and picutres you can get here. I went out and tried it on the 21st, only for it to fail on me. Apparently, it had been failing on multiple occasions in the past. I took some pictures (Shown in the intro) and reported the fail to Deer Park. Fast forward to next week, and I'm pleasantly surprised to see this siren facing a different direction. This time I brought a friend along too, so it was his first time ever going to a test. Now heres where things get a bit crazy. The forecast was calling for severe storms in the area that day. While I was setting up, the wind started picking up like crazy, which turned into sideways rain for a few moments. It was nice and sunny 10 minutes before noon, and now it was quickly turning gray as clouds flew over. It was only two minutes before noon where the rain stopped and the wind slowed, which was very lucky. Noon rolls around and this 130 screams to life, as expected. I will say this, Alert was definitely the right call, this was pretty dang loud despite all the wind, but to be fair we were pretty close too. After this winds down, we immediately start packing up to leave. I didn't even bother with the pictures really, even though I really wanted some with this scenery. The line of storms were quickly approaching, it was like looking at a wall of rainy darkness. I was mostly expecting this to happen. The only thing i didn't expect was for MULTIPLE confirmed tornadoes (EF2s and i think an EF3) to touch down in the area over the course of this storm. One of them passed by us, which started its path of destruction in Alvin and ended in Kemah. Many more twisters caused widespread damage across the southeastern region of Texas. Absolutely crazy way to end of the year. Well that was a long one. Not what I expected, but hey, things happen am I right?
