🌈 Solo trip to the MET | sketching and chats

⋆ ⊹ Hello! Happy Friday ⊹ ⋆ I recently went to the Metropolitan Museum of Art by myself (initially I wanted to visit the Museum of Modern Art, but they are closed for renovations until the end of next month :c ) This year, I learned to appreciate and understand art history far better than I have ever before. In the past, I didn't understand the collections of objects as art, but more as artifacts. Because these things sit behind glass, I took their silence and stillness for granted. ⊹ ⋆ further readings ⋆ ⊹ my dialogue with you at the museum is imbued with texts that I've been reading this summer. I couldn't caption every one of them specifically in the video, but I hope you can look into these resources if you are interested. I can only provide the title of these readings, because the PDF was given to me when I was enrolled in my summer class, and the link has since expired. Constance Classen: -Museum Manners: the Sensory Life of the Early Museum -The Museum of the Senses *Sandra Dudley: -“Encountering a Chinese horse: engaging with the thingness of things.” What are your experiences with art museums? How often do you visit them? Are entrance fees expensive in your city or country? I would love to hear your stories. These past few weeks have been quite hectic, but I hope to resume House of Tales soon! I don't have a studio space at the moment since I just relocated back on the east coast. I try to film as much as I can, but given my restrictions I currently have been planning many sit-down/"vlog"-styled videos, and potentially a tattoo video..! If you have any questions about my tattoos that you want me to answer, please let me know! Thank you for your love and support : '- ) Instagram🍒 @pyperbleu and @lilithfrey Blessed be, Lilith
