SMD Rework Not Melting Solder | KADA 2018D+ Fan Speed Control Fix
Problem: The station was showing correct temperature and the fan was running, but the solder on ICs was not melting. I was unable to remove any IC. Diagnosis: After checking, I found that the fan speed control area was faulty. The circuit is based on a TIP122 transistor and TL431 voltage reference. Solution: I replaced the faulty SMD package TL431 with a through-hole TL431. After this replacement, the station started working perfectly. Now the fan speed is properly controlled and solder melts easily.
