GOBERNADORES DESAFÍAN AL GOBIERNO: PIDEN 50% DEL IT Y CREAN CONSEJO PARA NEGOCIAR EL PACTO FISCAL

A group of five governors formalized the creation of the “Council of Autonomous Departmental Governments of Bolivia” this Thursday in El Alto and presented the national government with a document outlining five key demands to redefine the fiscal relationship between the central government and the regions. The most sensitive point is the request for 50% revenue sharing from the Transaction Tax, which they are asking to be included in the 2027 General State Budget. The document also demands the repeal of regulations that assign powers without resources, the transfer of institutions such as Senarecom, Ecebol, and Sergeomin, and the formation of a technical working group to prepare for the meeting convened by President Rodrigo Paz in August. The governors of Santa Cruz, Juan Pablo Velasco; Chuquisaca, Luis Ayllon; Tarija, María René Soruco; Beni, Jesús Égüez; Oruro, Édgar Sánchez; and the host, Luis Revilla, from La Paz, participated in the meeting.
