L' auditorium de Chicago, fierté architecturale

In 1871, Chicago was devastated by a catastrophic fire, but the city was reborn within a decade along the shores of Lake Michigan, becoming one of the largest American metropolises. In 1886, businessmen financed the construction of an iconic monument: the Auditorium Building. This innovative complex, designed by engineer Dankmar Adler and architect Louis Sullivan, combines a massive opera house, a luxury hotel, and office spaces. With its ten floors, it was one of the tallest stone structures of its time. Today, the building, acquired by Roosevelt University in 1947, remains a symbol of modern Chicago. Director: Stan Neumann.
