Searching for Pygmy Owls

Come along on a quick birding trip and a day spent searching for the tiny, the cute and the actually quite fierce and always elusive Northern Pygmy Owl. This year for us turned out to be a year of the owl of sorts, finding several snowy owls and after many days and hours searching and listening; the Northern Pygmy Owls of the Pacific Northwest. With just days left in the U.S. before heading back down south to beautiful Argentina, I spent several days exploring the canyons, draws, and landscapes of North Central Washington in February and March to find a lifer and try and get some shots of what some could consider one of the most coveted little owls of all. I couldn't believe my luck with some insider info on a tip from a fellow birdwatcher while admiring snowy owls and thought I would follow up being just a short drive away.
