Hi everyone, I'm Marco from Fenceshop, Rete Plastic's e-commerce site, and in this video we'll talk about fence braces. Customers have asked me more than once if there are right and left braces, and the answer is no! The video could end here, but keep watching because you'll discover some interesting things. Imagine you're building your fence, and after drilling all the holes and pouring the concrete posts, you get to the point where you need to install the braces and start scratching your head because you can't understand why one seems to be facing the wrong way. Let's see the reasons together. If we imagine starting, the plate of the pole is flush with the plate of the lightning bolt. So far, everything's fine. Since we're placing the second lightning bolt to create the angle, we immediately see two flaws. The first is that the thickness of the lightning bolt protrudes from that of the pole. Here... there's nothing we can do, we're stuck with it. The second flaw, however, is that we can't place the plate of the lightning bolt on the right side like the other one. We try turning it, and nothing... things still don't add up. So? So, we'll have no choice but to place it with the opposite plate (leaving the cut side facing the net). For the more picky, you can opt to place it with the correct plate, but you'll be forced to change the 8x30 mm bolt provided. In this case, with a bolt about 50 mm long, we could solve the problem. That annoying thickness will still remain. The question might be: Why? Why don't manufacturers make left and right arrows? I've honestly never asked, but I'll try to come up with some answers. Are they doubling the quantity of items? Space issues? Logistics issues? Problems explaining to everyone that left and right arrows exist, with all the questions that would arise? Perhaps it could just be a cost issue in producing an item that needs to cover the cost of the new manufacturing process. These are the answers I'll give myself, and I'll do my best to investigate further! I'll conclude by saying that these defects are manageable because when the mesh is passed over them, everything will be masked a bit. We won't solve the problem, but at least we'll hide it a bit.
