MAKE video series featuring Atlanta printmaker and artist Isaiah Jones
Get caught up in the current of Isaiah Jones’ unique printmaking art. KPKinteractive has a long history with craft and its makers. We love making videos about craft artisans who inspire us, such as Isaiah Jones. Isaiah is a graduate of Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). While originally attending for painting, she took a printmaking elective and fell in love with the process. Her painstaking process of stencils and large slabs of super-transparent ink creates incredibly intricate and beautiful monoprints. Isaiah draws her inspiration from bodies of water, with their ability to mask a dangerous current with a calm-looking surface. Close to her heart are the rushing rivers of the Appalachian Mountains. Like many artists, Isaiah enjoys hearing other interpretations of her art and how it affects the viewer. Atlanta Printmakers Studio is a non-profit community printmaking studio. They offer artists access to specialized equipment and diverse educational programs that foster the development of printmaking as a vibrant and progressive art form.
