In particular, around Tarobo Shrine (Aga Shrine), the area has developed into a syncretic Shinto-Buddhist fusion, connecting it with the Tengu (Tarobo), a deity worshipped by Prince Shotoku and Saicho as a god of luck and victory. Even today, the mountains are popular as power spots. Speaking of Tengu, they were originally counted among Japan's three great supernatural creatures, along with oni and kappa... They were deified when mountain worship and Buddhism merged, and along with Mount Atago's Tarobo, Mount Hira's Jirobo, Mount Iizuna's Saburobo, and Mount Kurama's Sojobo, they are a rare supernatural creature deeply connected to Shugendo... It's mind-blowing! ✨✨✨ They may even be more famous than Tarobo Shrine's enshrined deity, Masakatsuakachihayahiamenooshihomimi-no-mikoto. This god has a long name, is famous as the "god of victory," and is the father of the famous Ninigi-no-Mikoto.
