STUCK! As Canal Goes EMPTY! Heading BACK Onto The BROKEN LLANGOLLEN CANAL! Narrowboat Life - 634

Today we're leaving our mooring at Coole Lane here on the Shropshire Union canal, on a lovely, hot, spring day! And it shows! It's very busy on the canals today! First we'll head through the two locks at Hack Green, which will take us through some lovely countryside, before entering Nantwich, and heading along the massive embankment there and its cast iron aqueduct! Shortly after, we stopped off for a pump-out at Nantwich Canal Centre Marina,, which didn't go so well! And they ended up refusing us a pump-out for a crazy reason! So we'll have to try and get one elsewhere! Then it's another couple of busy miles before we reach Hurleston junction, where the Llangollen canal starts, which is of course where we turn onto the canal and head up the 4 locks there, in order to get closer to the breach at Whitchurch and escape the busy Shropshire Union canal, by ironically heading onto the UK's busiest canal! But thanks to the breach, this is the quietest it has ever been! But the lock flight is in a terrible state, and the deep-drafted Narrowboat Majestic heads up getting stuck in the very low pound, between the third and fourth lock, which was a nightmare to sort out and get her in the last lock! In the second half of the video, I decided to actually walk back from the Llangollen canal breach at Whitchurch again, taking a series of lovely footpaths through the countryside and also country lanes, but the weather got worse and worse, until it started raining! That's when I got soaked, yet again on a walk, it seems to be something that happens in every video now! We saw some great and interesting sights along the way, that did make it worthwhile and interesting to be within walking distance of the breach again! Hello and welcome to Taylors Aboard.
