We originally planned to explore Rhodes by car and drive all the way around the island. But the further south we drove, the more Rhodes surprised us. We discovered stunning beaches, beautiful landscapes, charming villages, ancient castles with breathtaking views – and then suddenly, a huge kite and windsurfing paradise, which I hadn't expected at all on Rhodes. The south of the island, in particular, is completely different from what you might expect from Rhodes: lots of wind, wide beaches, kitesurfers, windsurfers, and a truly unique atmosphere. For me, this was one of the most surprising moments of our entire island tour. Rhodes is much more diverse than I had imagined and truly impressed me as an island.
