Rhodes Hidden Gem!! | Forget the crowded beaches! Hello!!! 🥾 Rhodes Solo Adventure | Mallas Gorge Trek | Get off the beach and into the wilderness! In this video, I'll take you to the untouched southwest (Gennadi) of Rhodes. I ventured to trek through the impressive Mallas Gorge completely alone. An absolutely worthwhile adventure, but one that requires extremely careful planning! Shade is practically nonexistent. You're almost exclusively walking in the blazing sun, which makes the trek extremely strenuous in the Greek heat. 🗺️ Important information about the route & safety: The starting point: After a few detours, I started in the mountain village of Mesanagros. From there, it's about 6.5 km to the start of the gorge. Getting there: It's impossible to reach the actual starting point at the reservoir with a regular car! You absolutely need a four-wheel drive vehicle (4x4) or a quad bike. The hardcore final stretch: If you're doing the hike as a loop (like I did), an extremely tough 3.5 km steep climb in the blazing sun awaits you at the end, leading up to the wind turbines! 🥵Preparation: Sturdy footwear with good grip is essential. Bring plenty of drinking water and sunscreen – there's very little shade along the way, and no cell service in the gorge! The gorge itself was completely deserted (no people, no animals). In May, there was still some water.
