They Won't Let Me Pay For My Food In Kurdistan!

I can't say I have had much of a better first impression of a new country than I had with Kurdistan. After a tiring, yet successful border crossing from Cizre in southeastern Türkiye to Duhok in Iraqi Kurdistan, all I wanted was a quick bite to eat so that I didn't go to sleep with an empty stomach. What I got from this evening was much more than that. I was left with an impression of Kurdistan that only amplified my anticipation to explore this untouched part of the world. A big thank you to Azad for taking the time to teach me so much about Kurdish culture and cuisine and to Mohammed from "Xoni" restaurant for the free pizzas and incredible hospitality. If ever you've been on the fence about visiting Iraqi Kurdistan, this video should be your sign to get there as soon as possible.
