GDMBR - Part 7 - Abiquiu to Pie Town

The ‘slabs of death’ are crossed as we climb out of Abiquiu up the Polvadera Mesa. An idyllic cabin in Cuba is a prelude to the amazing desert landscapes to the south. We scamp in the badlands, search carefully for water before we receive our reward, the pies in Pie Town. In the summer of 2025 I rode the Great Divide Mountain Bike Route from Banff in Canada to Antelope Wells on the US border with Mexico.
