Harga Minyak Dunia Melemah, Pertamax Turun?

KOMPAS.TV - Despite a decline in global oil prices last Friday, the price of non-subsidized fuel remained at over IDR 16,000 per liter. Economists believe that, while this is a positive signal, it will take time to lower domestic fuel prices. Global oil prices fell around 3 percent on Friday, hitting their lowest level in two months. Dipo Satria Ramli, an economist at the Center of Reform on Economics (CORE Indonesia), said the decline in global oil prices is a welcome change. However, this situation still depends on the future tensions in relations between the United States and Iran. Meanwhile, domestic conditions do not necessarily mean that prices can be lowered immediately. CORE Indonesia noted that time is needed to adjust to transition calculations and political decisions. The Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), Bahlil Lahadalia, revealed that the price increase for Pertamax, a non-subsidized fuel, is currently in line with existing market prices. According to Bahlil, this calculation has been carried out wisely. However, Bahlil emphasized that the government will not increase the prices of subsidized fuel and LPG. Global crude oil prices corrected during trading on June 12, 2026. According to Bloomberg data, Brent Crude Oil reached US$87.33 cents per barrel, down US$3.5 cents, or 3.37 percent. This decline occurred after oil prices closed the previous day at US$90.38 cents per barrel. Crude oil prices fell to their lowest level since the outbreak of the US-Israel war with Iran due to signs of increasing oil supply flows through the Strait of Hormuz and progress toward an interim peace agreement.
