Song of Solomon 6 — The Chapter Where She Stops Searching | Worship Love Song

The morning after the dark night. In chapter 5 the bride searched the city and could not find her beloved. Here in Song of Solomon 6, when the daughters of Jerusalem offer to help her search, she answers calmly — she knows exactly where he is. And she names herself his before she names him hers: "I am my beloved's, and my beloved is mine." Then the bridegroom returns to praise her, not only as beautiful but as glorious — "awesome as an army with banners," radiant "like the dawn, beautiful as the moon, bright as the sun." Read by the church for centuries as both a literal love poem and as a picture of the soul on the far side of the crisis — settled in belonging, and the church glorified, shining with a light that is not her own (2 Corinthians 3:18).
