Mount Coffee hydro-electric plant in Liberia switched on again after 26 years

President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has officially commissioned the newly rehabilitated Mount Coffee Hydropower Plant in Harrisburg. The Liberian leader lauded the country's local and international partners for the implementation of the Hydropower Project. The rehabilitation of the Mt. Coffee Hydropower plant is estimated to have cost $ 357 M, since it officially started in May 2012. The massive project was initiated by the Liberian government, in partnership with friendly governments and institutions including the Millennium Challenge Corporation of the US, the European Investment Bank, as well as the Norwegian and German governments
