26 Years Ago: The Games of 2000! How Many Did You Play?

26 years ago, the millenium turned over as we reached the year 2000 - and it was a good time to be a gamer! In this video, we take a look at 100 games that were released that year. After a very successful run and approaching the end of its lifecycle, the PS1 was still bringing us some standout titles (Spider-Man! Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2! Final Fantasy IX!) Sega's Dreamcast was flying high after having just been released the year before - and even the humble Nintendo 64 was still getting some standout titles (Perfect Dark! Sin and Punishment!). The PC was also dropping some major heavy hitters (Thief II! No-One Liver Forever! Deus Ex! Diablo 2!) that are still loved today! And this shiny new PlayStation 2 was the new kid on the block, dropping us hints of the future with titles like SSX and Dynasty Warriors 2. Lara Croft was still struggling along and Daikatana showed us how marketing could go wrong. We saw the debut of the Hitman franchise, and Duke Nukem made the jump from first person to 3rd person. Even the arcades were still dropping a couple of hits, with Gauntlet: Dark Legacy and a few Neo Geo fighting games bringing the quarter-dropping action...
