The next leg of our Cycling Across Canada journey takes us through Alberta, a province that transformed our ride in ways we never imagined. After weeks of pedaling through the endless prairies, Alberta marked a turning point. As we rolled into Calgary, we joined Bikes & Brews, a local cycling club, for an unforgettable ride through the city. But the real magic began as we finally left the flats behind and caught our first glimpse of the Rocky Mountains in the distance. It felt like we had crossed into an entirely new world—one where towering peaks replaced open fields, and every turn in the road revealed a new breathtaking view. Reaching Banff National Park was nothing short of surreal. The crisp mountain air, glacier-fed lakes, and winding roads made this one of the most scenic rides of the entire trip. From there, we took the legendary Bow Valley Parkway, an unforgettable stretch of road that led us toward our biggest milestone yet—crossing into British Columbia, our 10th and final province. Alberta challenged us with steep climbs and unpredictable weather, but the beauty of the Rockies made every push worth it. This was a section of the ride we’ll never forget.
