"Pivoting" is Stealing Your Power - Do This Instead for More Explosive Punches

https://ThePunchDoctor.com - check out my freebies and the Power Punching Blueprint, my A-Z punch mechanics program that will improve your speed, fluidity, and power on demand so you can own the ring, own the cage, and own your environment. In this video I rail against using the "pivot" to power your punch (again) and offer an alternative that actually helps you generate speed and power. I haven't seen any videos about using your glutes or hip extension to power your punch and I break down how to do it in this video. It's a bit of a paradigm shift. This is what I mean when I say "push your hips into rotation," or "load and explode." You are using explosive glute and hip power to power your punch, just like you would use your glutes in other explosive movements. This is how your favorite punchers generate their power, and this will allow you to do it as well. NOTE - You can be in your normal bladed stance and still use your glutes. you don't have to have both feet pointing forward. if your rear foot is really pointed to the side, like 90 degrees, it may somewhat reduce your ability to launch, however a normal bladed stance with slightly turned feet is fine and you'll still be able to use hip extension to power your punch. You don't need to change your stance. I'm doing it here in a more square stance just for demonstration. 0:00 intro and anatomy discussion 2:34 Mike Tyson using hip drive 4:24 Ilia Topuria using hip drive 5:45 Naoya Inoue using hip drive 7:20 Bag tutorial
