We're flying Virgin Atlantic Premium Economy from Manchester Airport to JFK New York — and Gem's parents are joining us for the whole trip! 🗽✈️ ⭐ VIRGIN ATLANTIC PREMIUM ECONOMY REVIEW (MAN → JFK) Is Virgin Atlantic Premium Economy worth it? Honest reactions throughout. 🛫 MANCHESTER AIRPORT TERMINAL 2 We breeze through a very quiet security, get drawn into Duty Free (Jimmy Choo perfume and a very generous pair of sunglasses — thanks Gem's parents!), and grab lunch at the Bridgewater Exchange before heading to the gate. 🇺🇸 ARRIVING AT JFK — MOBILE PASSPORT CONTROL FIRST TIME We use Mobile Passport Control for the first time — download the app, take a selfie, and get directed to a dedicated lane. Flight lands early, private transfer is already updated, and we catch our first glimpse of the New York skyline through the Queens Midtown Tunnel. 🏨 INTERCONTINENTAL NEW YORK BARCLAY HOTEL REVIEW — MIDTOWN MANHATTAN We return to the InterContinental Barclay in Midtown Manhattan — one of our favourite NYC hotels. We flagged it as a special occasion and Gem's parents' anniversary, and we got a surprise in the room. The jazz in the lobby never gets old. Views of the Chrysler Building from outside the hotel — iconic. 🌃 FIRST NIGHT IN NEW YORK CITY — MIDTOWN MANHATTAN Our concierge sends us to Walgreens over CVS for late-night snacks (trust him). We browse the candy — Tony's Chocolonely at $7.99, Butterfingers, Crunch bars — before calling it a night. By our body clocks it's nearly midnight.
