TULANG BAWANG (01/06/2026) – Police shot dead an armed interprovincial motorcycle thief in the Unit II area, Banjar Agung District, Tulang Bawang, on Sunday afternoon. The perpetrator, Umar Mutoharini, died after pointing a homemade revolver at officers during an arrest. Despite warning shots, Umar resisted and attempted to flee. After being subdued, he was taken to a nearby hospital, but his life was not saved. Another of his accomplices, Dwi Sambodo, was apprehended by police without incident. Police seized evidence from the two perpetrators, including one homemade firearm, five live rounds of ammunition, two T-keys, and a car. Tulang Bawang Police Criminal Investigation Unit Head, AKP Afriyadi Pratama, stated that Umar's body was taken to the Bhayangkara Hospital, Lampung Regional Police, for further examination. Dwi Sambodo is being held at Tulang Bawang Police Headquarters for further investigation. The gang's actions were previously captured on CCTV during the theft of two motorcycles.
