In this message from Jeremiah chapter 32, we look at one of the strangest and most powerful acts of faith in the Old Testament. Jerusalem was under siege. Babylon was outside the walls. Jeremiah was locked up in the court of the prison. Everything around him looked like it was falling apart. And right there, in the middle of pressure, fear, confinement, and uncertainty, God told Jeremiah to buy a field. That field was more than a piece of land. It was a prophetic act. It was a visible declaration that Babylon would not get the last word. God was saying, “This is not the end. Houses and fields and vineyards shall be possessed again in this land.” This message is for anybody who feels surrounded, stuck, delayed, discouraged, ashamed, or tempted to give up on the future. Faith does not deny reality. Faith looks at the siege, looks at the prison, looks at the field, and still says, “God has spoken.” Maybe your field is your family. Maybe your field is your ministry. Maybe your field is your recovery. Maybe your field is your future. Maybe your field is your own heart. Whatever it is, do not let a Babylon season make you throw away an Anathoth promise. God is still speaking. God is still restoring. God is still redeeming. God is still able.
