Don't Skip KALBARRI! | Pink Lake, Nature's Window and More!

Convict ruins from the 1850s, Australia's PINKEST lake, an epic cliff walk that hangs further over the edge than the Grand Canyon Skywalk, and a drone controller that didn't survive the view — this is Kalbarri. Our family of six continues the Western Australia road trip, starting at the Lynton Convict Depot near Port Gregory — an incredible piece of history where 80 convicts once slept in a single dormitory, still standing nearly 170 years later. From there, we push into Kalbarri for three packed days: the daily pelican feeding that's been running since 1975, the Z Bend lookout, the iconic Nature's Window, and the Kalbarri Skywalk — perched 100 metres above the Murchison River and jutting 25 metres over the cliff edge. We also chase the famous Hutt Lagoon (Pink Lake) — and this one is genuinely, unmistakably pink. The drone footage captures just how massive and vibrant it really is. Speaking of drones… Kai drops the controller mid-flight and breaks it while trying to film whales off the Natural Bridge walk.
