The history of the Paris Commune of 1871 is inextricably linked with its terrible repression from 21 to 28 May, known as ‘Bloody Week’. This fourth part of our documentary series on the Commune tells the story of this massacre, but also of the prison repression that followed (40,000 prisoners and thousands deported to New Caledonia in these new colonial lands (simple deportation, penal servitude, etc.), not to mention the sending of a few Communard women to the penal servitude of Guyana.
