Repairing a Vintage Craftsman Model 315.7790 Drill

There are many reasons why an old tool gets sent to the scrap heap. Sometimes they're just plain worn out and it's not cost effective to rebuild. Rarely, it's because something mechanical breaks which I think is the case here. The trigger on this old Craftsman drill broke and so it was junked way before it had time to get worn out.
