Specialist investigator warns of a spike in SA kidnappings
Specialist investigator Mike Bolhuis has warned that kidnapping-for-ransom cases in South Africa are likely to increase unless urgent action is taken. He says criminals often target people who openly display their wealth and valuables. Bolhuis adds that South Africa remains an attractive environment for criminal syndicates because of weak deterrence and low conviction rates.
