Oklahoma! 1955 'Kansas city' presented in Ultra-Curve
The first Todd-AO feature was shot at 30fps for projection on a deeply curved screen. This clip has been digitally enhanced to simulate how the system looked when projected onto a deeply curved screen using the Ultra-Curve system. Ultra-Curve attempts to capture some of the magic of deep curved screen presentations of many 70mm and Cinerama productions of the 1950s and 60s. It does not imply it is 'better' than letter-boxing but does give a more immersive experience especially when shown with a standard home cinema projector and flat screen. This is taken from the restored Todd-AO Oklahoma! Blu Ray release.
