LA ZATTERA DELLA MEDUSA • Un terribile fatto di cronaca | Storia dell'arte

• “The Raft of the Medusa” is a painting that recounts a terrifying event that took place in 1816 and became a true horror story. “The Raft of the Medusa” (in the original language “Le Radeau de la Méduse”) is one of the most famous and important paintings in art history. Its author, Théodore Géricault, was only 27 years old when he painted this masterpiece, yet he was able to mark an era, breaking with the Neoclassical style and opening the doors to Romanticism. However, behind this painting lies a gruesome news story that took place shortly before, involving a ship, the Méduse, and 150 unfortunate shipwrecked people: one of the most terrible events in history, something that today we would perhaps call “true crime.” #arthistory #medusa #truecrimestory CHAPTERS: • 0:00 - Introduction • 1:51 - The author, Théodore Géricault • 8:52 - Analysis of the painting • 13:01 - Le Radeau de la Méduse: the true crime story • 24:11 - The Raft of the Medusa • 44:12 - Conclusion MUSIC: • The music in this video was composed by Stefano (Siesar) Nick:    / @siesarmusiclab   » SUBSCRIBE TO THE CHANNEL: •    / @beatricegaggiotti   CHANNELS: • YouTube:    / @beatricegaggiotti   • TikTok:   / beatricegaggiotti   SOCIAL MEDIA: • Instagram:   / beatricegaggiotti   • Facebook:   / beatricestheme   • X (Twitter): https://x.com/BeatricesTheme • Pinterest:   / beatricegaggiotti   • LinkedIn:   / beatrice-gaggiotti   DOWNLOAD MY FREE EBOOK AND SUBSCRIBE TO MY NEWSLETTER: • The map of the arts: https://www.beatricegaggiotti.com/new...
