Women in TechWorks: Engineering Intelligently: Introduction with Jillian Hughes, Founder, WITW
In this opening session from Women in TechWorks: Engineering Intelligently, Jillian Hughes, Founder of Women in TechWorks, sets the tone for a day focused on talent, leadership, inclusion and the future of engineering. Drawing on her own career journey, Jillian highlights why attracting women into technology is only part of the challenge — the sector must also retain, support and progress the talented women already working across semiconductors, electronics, AI, cyber security and deep tech. The session introduces the purpose of Women in TechWorks: to strengthen the UK technology talent pipeline through mentoring, training, visibility, role models and practical support at every stage of a woman’s career. Recorded at Arm Cambridge, this introduction opens a wider programme exploring AI, leadership, skills, innovation and how industry can work together to help more women enter, stay and thrive in technology.
