Women in TechWorks: From Community to Competitive Advantage: The Power of Women’s ERGs in Tech

In this Women in TechWorks session, Rachel Rees, UK Committee Chair of the Women@Arm Employee Resource Group, explores how women’s ERGs can move beyond community-building to become powerful drivers of business performance, talent development and competitive advantage. The talk highlights how employee resource groups can strengthen talent pipelines, improve retention, support mentoring and sponsorship, and increase the visibility of emerging leaders across the technology sector. Rachel also discusses how ERGs can provide valuable insight into employee experience, helping organisations remove barriers and build more inclusive, high-performing cultures. Recorded at Women in TechWorks: Engineering Intelligently, hosted at Arm Cambridge, this session forms part of a wider conversation on mentoring, leadership and retention — and how practical action can help more women enter, stay and progress in deep tech. Women in TechWorks is a member-led TechWorks initiative created to champion women and allies across the UK technology sector, supporting visibility, leadership, mentoring and career progression across semiconductors, electronics, AI and deep tech.
