How We Handle The Holidays (After Switching To A Whole Food Plant-Based Diet)

You might put a lot of thought into what you’ll eat at a family gathering or wonder how you’ll respond to questions about your new lifestyle. We thought it would be fun to pick some of the most popular questions we get asked at holiday gatherings and talk through our answers. These questions include everything from “What are you doing to lose weight?” to “When will you be able to eat ‘real’ food again?” Hopefully this will help you be better prepared for your own holiday celebrations! I do want to point out that I think it is really important to avoid getting really defensive when fielding questions. We are both lucky to have really understanding and supportive families, but I know people who have told me their families are very judgmental of their lifestyle. We don’t try to “win” anyone over or convert them, we just answer any questions to the best of our ability. The last thing you want during the holidays is to get into an argument while trying to defend your lifestyle choice.
