Kilimanjaro 🥾🗻💥- Machame / Whiskey Route to UHURU Peak ... The roof of Africa … #sevensummits

Summiting Kilimanjaro was not a childhood dream, but it is the First step towards something much bigger and more challenging which I am planning to do in the coming months ... It was my First mountaineering experience, and instead of doing it alone, decided to take up a Team with me for such a Trekventure ... a Team of 6 including myself, 3 Maltese and 3 Czech adventurers. Preparations took 9 long months, where we also trained hard in anticipation, but in countries like Malta, one can never train at altitudes, so we had to face this hurdle on the mountain itself. We were equipped with the best gear possible, but altitude/sickness still kicked in at certain altitudes, which effected one of my team members and myself badly. Despite all this, and also deprived from sleeping, we kicked off to Summit this mountain at midnight between Day 4 and 5 (on the 18th September 2023), and all the 6 Team members, managed to Summit UHURU Peak (5895m) , on Mount Kilimanjaro, successfully, at about 08:45am. With the guidance of our Guides and Porters, we all managed to climb down to Machame Gate, tired ... but extremely satisfied, safe and sound.
