coal traffic on the C&DR - 2025

A new video of coal trains running over the Craigcorrie & Dunalistair Railway. The work is done by 0-6-2ST no. 2 Craigcorrie and by 2-6-2T no. 13 Robert the Bruce, which needed running-in after general overhaul. The colliery shunter, an ancient Baldwin 4-6-0 puts in an appearance, as does 0-6-0T Brutus which comes in on a local passenger train. The shunting sequences reflect normal operating practice on the C&DR. The cramped colliery yard can handle two trains at a time (one loaded, the other empty), but it needs judicious shuffling of the train engine and the shunting loco. At Dunalistair, the 12-wagon trains are split into 6-wagon blocks for handling on the pier.
