Self-driving vehicles set to serve passengers in Punggol from early 2026

Singapore is a step closer to having the first autonomous vehicles in its public transport network. Repeated test runs mean AV operator Grab's shuttles are more ready to ply Punggol and handle Singapore's unique road conditions, such as school zones and yellow boxes. Drivers who will ensure passengers' safety have also progressed in their training. Since October, over 100 autonomous tests have been completed, and Grab plans to do four times of that by end 2025. Services are expected to start early 2026. Claudia Lim reports.
