The hike to El Miro is suitable for most levels of hikers and around 3km to the top and back. The average person makes the entire hike in just over an hour, depending on whether you stick around to enjoy the sites at the abandoned hotel property. The trail is very well maintained and clean, and if you are lucky you might see monkeys, toucans, and poison dart frogs during your hike. Make sure you watch the video to get our special tip on the part of the trail that many people miss, and where you are most likely to see monkeys !!! The trail head is located on the highway through town, right across from Puddlefish / Calle Madrigal on the south side of Jaco. The abandoned hotel is covered in very stylish street art and graffiti, and the site is very interesting and has absolutely amazing views. This hike is one of the most recommended activities in Jaco and is very popular with locals as well as tourists. It's a true 'must see' !
