From the earthly to the luminous, to the Tabari, to the lineage, to the opening, to the prostration, to peace, we continue… A profound mystical reading of the Liturgy of Peace within the Alawite Nusayri tradition. In this episode, we examine the seventh liturgy of the Alawite Nusayri constitution, the Liturgy of Peace. A text that reveals that peace in this theology is not merely a greeting between two parties. It is a name among the names of meaning, a chain of light that began before time had meaning. In this episode, we trace the first peace in existence, from the ancient meaning upon His Greatest Name, from the Name upon the Abiding Door, and from the Door upon the Noble Orphans, the pillars of this world and the hereafter. We stand before the chain of lights from which this entire universe emanated, from the highest levels of light down to our human, temperamental world. We also pause to consider a profound question: Who is the believer in this theology? What is the difference between a believer, a Muslim, and a martyr? How does a person carry within themselves two opposing natures, and how does faith become a journey of purification between them? The constitution is the book of initiation in the Alawite Nusayri tradition. For a long time, it remained within a closed circle, written by hand and circulated under specific conditions, with instruction restricted to men. An essential reminder: The Alawite-Nusayri religion is a monotheistic, mystical, and esoteric religion, and it is a religion in its own right. This is not a claim; it is a theological truth that can be proven by text. Yes, there is a shared set of historical figures with Islam. But a shared set of figures does not mean a shared worldview. Christianity shares prophets and Old Testament books with Judaism, yet no one claims that Christianity is a Jewish sect. This is because what defines a religion's identity is not the figures it mentions, but the theological worldview upon which it is based. And the worldview here is radically different, not in the details, but in its very foundation. In Islam, the Divine Essence is entirely transcendent, unseen and indescribable in any visible form. In Alawite-Nusayri Islam, the Divine Essence, in its essence, is One, Eternal, and transcendent, beyond comprehension and description. However, it chose to be known, and so it manifested itself in the form of the bald-headed Ali, a true manifestation without merging or incarnation. This image is not the entirety of the Creator, nor is the Creator other than it, but through it, perception is established and understanding is validated. This manifestation does not occur in isolation, but rather within a rigorous, hierarchical structure of appearance: Meaning, Name, and Gate—Ali, Muhammad, and Salman. Meaning is the Essence in its absolute unseen realm, Name is created from the light of its Essence, and Gate is created from the light of the Name. The lower cannot ascend to the higher, nor can the higher be divided into what is below it. Furthermore, the Alawite Nusayri sect has presented a different and unique interpretation of the Quranic text, one that does not resemble, in any way, the official Islamic interpretation. In our sacred constitution, the word "Muslim" does not appear. The word that exists is "believer." This is not a linguistic detail; it is a definition. We are monotheists, believers in the visible, transcendental image, which is the ultimate goal. This great religion, with its cosmic vision, carries layers of previous cultures and religions; from the religions of West Asia and ancient Egypt to Zoroastrianism, to Hellenistic currents such as Neoplatonism, to the Abrahamic religions. This syncretic, eclectic nature is a uniquely fascinating phenomenon in religious studies. We can trace these layers through the rituals, festivals, and original texts themselves.
