From the earthly to the manifest, to the Tabari, to lineage, to conquest, to prostration, to peace, to the sign, we continue… A profound mystical reading of the Sign Liturgy within the Alawite-Nusayri tradition. In this episode, we examine the eighth liturgy of the Alawite-Nusayri constitution, the Sign Liturgy. This text takes us back to one of the most controversial historical events: the Day of Ghadir Khumm. The moment that Sunnis and Shiites have debated for centuries. But the monotheists did not enter this conflict at all, because their question was fundamentally different. They did not ask who rules; they asked whom to worship. In this episode, we trace four signs in four locations: from the sign of the house to the sign of the tree, to the sign of Umm Salama, to the sign of Ghadir. We discover how what others call a pledge of allegiance, the monotheists interpret as a repeated declaration from the Greatest Name of the divinity of its meaning. We also confront the most difficult question in this theology: What is truly difficult? And how can the believer understand the visible image without worshipping it, and worshipping the meaning that manifests through it? The constitution is the initiation book of the Alawite-Nusayri tradition. For a long time, it remained within a closed circle, written by hand and circulated under specific conditions, with initiation restricted to men. An essential reminder: The Alawite-Nusayri religion is a monotheistic, mystical, and gnostic faith, and it is a religion in its own right. This is not a claim; it is a theological truth that can be proven by text. Yes, there is a shared set of historical figures with Islam. However, a shared set of figures does not imply a shared worldview. Christianity shares prophets and Old Testament books with Judaism, yet no one claims that Christianity is a Jewish sect. This is because what defines a religion is not the figures it mentions, but the theological worldview upon which it is based. And this worldview is radically different, not in the details, but in its very foundation. In Islam, the divine essence is entirely transcendent, unseen and incapable of appearing in any visible form. In the Alawite Nusayri tradition, the Divine Essence, in its essence, is One, Eternal, and transcendent, incomprehensible and indescribable. Yet, it willed to be known, and so it manifested itself in the image of the bald-headed Ali, a true manifestation without mingling or incarnation. This image is not the entirety of the Creator, nor is the Creator other than it, but through it, direct perception is established and understanding is validated. This manifestation does not occur in isolation, but rather within a rigorous, hierarchical structure of manifestation: Meaning, Name, and Gate—Ali, Muhammad, and Salman. Meaning is the Essence in its absolute unseen realm, Name is created from the light of its Essence, and Gate is created from the light of the Name. The lower cannot ascend to the higher, nor can the higher be divided into what is below it. Furthermore, the Alawite Nusayri tradition has presented a different and unique interpretation of the Quranic text, one that does not resemble, in any way, the official Islamic interpretation. In our sacred constitution, the word "Muslim" does not appear. The word that does appear is "believer." This is not a linguistic detail. It is a definition: we are monotheists, believers in the visible, bald-headed image, which is the ultimate goal. This great religion, with its worldview, bears layers of previous cultures and religions; from the religions of West Asia and ancient Egypt to Zoroastrianism, to Hellenistic currents like Neoplatonism, to the Abrahamic religions. This syncretic and syncretistic nature is a unique and fascinating phenomenon in religious studies. We can trace these layers through the rituals, festivals, and original texts themselves.
