The Rise and Fall of Ninjala
Ninjala was a real surprise hit in 2020. Developed by GungHo, this free-to-play action game initially attracted a lot of attention thanks to its colourful style, fast-paced gameplay and obvious parallels to Splatoon. Millions of downloads, collaborations with major brands, its own anime series and a large marketing campaign ensured that Ninjala attracted many players over time. However, despite a strong start, Ninjala was unable to keep a large playerbase. Criticism of the game's balance, technical problems and the general live service concept meant that many players quickly jumped ship. The next big Nintendo Switch online game thus turned into a flop. So what became of Ninjala? In this video, I'll tell you the whole story of the game: from the big hype at the beginning to the end of development in 2025! #ninjala #nintendo #nintendoswitch
