Albert Park Lake Bike Ride

A couple of laps of the Albert Park Lake in Melbourne on my Curve Belgie v3 on a sunny afternoon. Both the road and the paths around the lake are basically flat and are therefore very popular for walkers, runners and riders. The beautiful black swans were chilling around the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre (MSAC) side of the lake. Lots of the Grand Prix infrastructure remains in place along Pit Straight and development of the new pit area is well underway. The wind today was from the north and while not particularly strong or gusty is still enough to increase the heart rate as you head along Lakeside Drive toward the city. I like that Lakeside Oval remains and has been improved for use. I'm old enough to remember watching VFL there when the Swans were South Melbourne! I also like that Peter Norman is remembered with a statue outside the venue.
