Mozart’s beloved aria "Voi che sapete" from the opera "Le Nozze di Figaro" (The Marriage of Figaro) composed in 1786. As a light spinto soprano, all three soprano roles are suitable for me. Thus, you'll see me here as both Cherubino and the Countess, and in my next release, as Susanna! 😊 This studio recording and historically ambient video capture the emotional depth and youthful yearning of the adolescent Cherubino, revealing angst, joyful excitement and confusion about his frustratingly oscillating emotions. The Countess lightheartedly had asked him to sing a song he wrote, without knowing that Cherubino wrote it for her, with whom he is helplessly in love. So he is a bit shy and awestruck by the Countess, and catches himself off guard at times, as he allows his feelings to emerge. This visual narrative was captured on location in the breathtaking, historic UNESCO World Heritage Vrtba Garden (Vrtbovská zahrada) in Prague built during the same era as Mozart's musical reign.
