The Spanish guitarist Santiago de Murcia was one of the first to include Fandango in his tablature from 1732. Later it became one of the main forms of flamenco music. In some regions of Mexico, the name "fandango" was used to describe a folk fiesta with music, dancing and singing, during which musicians play and sing a musical form called "son". "Fandanguito" is a "son jarocho" characteristic of the Sotavento region in the state of Veracruz. [PL] Fandango jest tańcem powstałym na styku kultury hiszpańskiej i iberoamerykańskiej w XVII i XVIII wieku z elementami kultury muzycznej Hiszpanów, Indian meksykańskich, afrykańskich niewolników pracujących na plantacjach w Meksyku. Hiszpański gitarzysta Santiago de Murcia jako jeden z pierwszych umieścił Fandango w swojej tabulaturze z 1732 roku. Później stało się ono jedną z głównych form muzyki flamenco. W niektórych regionach Meksyku nazwą "fandango" określano ludową fiestę z muzyką, tańcem i śpiewem, podczas których muzycy grają i spiewają formę muzyczną nazywaną "son".
