Sgt. Gary Beikirch, Medal of Honor Recipient (Full Interview)
Sgt. Gary Beikirch served as a U.S. Army Special Forces medic during the Vietnam War. On April 1 1970, in the Kontum Province of South Vietnam, Sgt. Beikirch treated wounded indigenous and American soldiers while under intense fire from the North Vietnamese. For acts of valor that day, he was presented with the Medal of Honor in 1973.
