Identity Card Printing Resumes

The National Registration Bureau has announced the resumption of processing of national identity cards which had stalled for several months following the expiry of a printing contract. So far 150,000 cards have already been processed over the last two weeks. The bureau has been producing 25,000 cards daily and hopes to produce 300,000 cards by the end of the month to ease the backlog estimated to be around 650,000.the department also hopes to begin registering Kenyans in the Diaspora beginning 29th august this year.
