The Perfect Shot I came for didn’t happen
I went to Kilchurn Castle with a very clear shot in mind. It’s one of those locations you see landscape photographers take time and time again and I had a predetermined image planned out But when I (eventually) got there, it just didn’t work. Blue skies, harsh light, fencing around the castle. None of it lined up in a way that made sense photographically. That could have been the end of it, but it turned into something else entirely. This ended up being one of those days where you stop trying to force the shot you came for and start paying attention to what’s actually in front of you. Some of it worked and some of it didn’t. A lot of it, I’d never normally have tried. But overall, it turned into a much better day than I’d planned. Filmed around Kilchurn Castle and Loch Awe, about an hour from Glencoe, Scotland. If you enjoy this kind of slower, more reflective approach to photography, feel free to subscribe and I'll see you on the next trip.
