In The War of the Worlds after the collapse of human resistance, an unnatural silence settles across the devastated countryside and abandoned towns. Roads stand empty, homes lie deserted, and the noise of ordinary life disappears beneath fear and ruin. The eerie stillness becomes as unsettling as the invasion itself, leaving the surviving humans isolated in a world that feels abandoned and broken. (Verse 1) The guns no longer thundered through the dark and empty land, No marching feet remained to make a final desperate stand. The roads lay still and hollow where the fleeing crowds had been, As silence settled heavily on every shattered scene. (Verse 2) The towns stood cold and lifeless beneath the ashen sky, With broken walls and vacant streets where hope itself seemed dry. No voice arose from windows and no labour filled the day, Only the wind moved softly where mankind had passed away. (Chorus) An eerie silence covered all the fields and ruined stone, As though the world itself had learned to tremble all alone. No sign of former greatness and no comfort could be found, Only the weight of stillness pressing deeply on the ground. (Verse 3) The survivors hid in shadows with their thoughts consumed by dread, While every distant movement filled their fearful hearts with lead. The absence of all living sound seemed stranger than the cries, As though the Earth had paused beneath the vast and empty skies. (Verse 4) No bells were heard from churches and no carts rolled through the lane, The quiet felt unnatural like a sickness or a chain. And every ruined household stood abandoned to decay, A memory of a vanished world that slowly slipped away. (Chorus) An eerie silence covered all the fields and ruined stone, As though the world itself had learned to tremble all alone. No sign of former greatness and no comfort could be found, Only the weight of stillness pressing deeply on the ground. (Bridge) The strength of human voices and the noise of countless lives, Had faded into emptiness where now the silence thrived. For after all the terror and the ruin that had spread, There lingered only stillness where the pulse of life had fled. (Outro) So over ruined England fell the calm that none could trust, A silence deep and haunting laid across the smoke and dust. And in that dreadful quiet where the living scarcely trod, The world seemed left abandoned beneath a distant God. #scifimusic #scifi #metal #thrash #waroftheworlds #aliens
