Hidden away in an unassuming park lie the bunkers of the Schouwen stronghold—part of the German coastal defenses along the Atlantic Wall. The well-known Walvis Bunker/Vleugelbunker, the former command bunker of the complex, was locked during my visit. However, surrounding it are other associated bunkers, some still open, remarkably well-preserved, and hidden deep within the terrain. In this video, I explore the site, show the open bunkers, and investigate the role this stronghold played in World War II. These bunkers weren't simply concrete structures in the park—they were part of a defense system designed to prevent an Allied landing. A forgotten Atlantic Wall site nestled between nature, history, and massive concrete remnants. This video serves solely for historical documentation, education, and remembrance.
