Cullen surprised us. And it wasn't just the soup.
It's a train and a bus (and a lot of hours) to get from Montrose to the wee village of Cullen on Scotland's North East coast (thankfully a bit before the area was hit by some pretty severe winter weather!). We have never stopped here before and the place was quite surprising to be honest. After building up an appetite with a wander around town, we ended up in the Rockpool Café sampling the famous local soup. I think you'll see by the thumbnail and title that we quite liked it! We also really enjoyed the journey to get here (especially the bus bit) and there's definitely some unfinished business in this corner of Scotland. We will be back for sure. Join me on my adventures as I discover my own country, often visiting places for the first time, so hopefully it's as much of an eye-opener for you as it is for me! Don't expect expert opinion, just a very honest journey of discovery. Sometimes featuring my intrepid sidekick Alicja, sometimes featuring adventures beyond the borders of Scotland. Enjoy!
