Stuck at Camp in Silverton | RV Life in a Remote Mountain Town

RV life in Silverton, Colorado didn’t go exactly as planned. Between a spare tire, a rainy mountain weekend, and being in a remote mountain town, Feeny and I ended up stuck close to camp. So we made a game out of it. Instead of driving to a trailhead, we explored the mountain sitting right behind the RV: Kendall Mountain. It is a view I’ve looked at for years, but somehow never really hiked. We walked from the pod, wandered toward County Road 20, climbed just enough to kick our butts, and found a little hidden Silverton beauty right outside camp. After that, we came back for snacks, a little pod putzing, and an accidental nap because altitude. The next morning, we were supposed to do Feeny’s senior dog photos, but Silverton weather had other plans. We got rained out, went back to bed, and took the first little break in the weather to walk along the river before the rain tucked us inside for the rest of the day. Not the weekend I planned, but maybe exactly the kind of slow Silverton weekend I needed. See ya next Sunday.
